Music setting and editorial services
Whether it’s a single page of music for solo flute, a complex orchestral score or a reference book chock-full of musical terminology and extracts, I can provide copy-editing, music/type-setting and proofreading services to suit your requirements.
For music-setting, I choose either Sibelius, which I have been using – in its various incarnations – since 1994, or the open-source Lilypond.
As an experienced pianist, flautist and singer, and even having dabbled in conducting occasionally, I am well used to reading and interpreting written music. As a composer, I am used to translating what I hear in my head to notes on the page that make sense for the musician. I have also received training in music editing and proofreading from the Society for Editors and Proofreaders.
In my hands, your music will not only look thoroughly professional but will be clear and easy to read. For sheet music, I am happy to offer an end-to-end editorial service, taking an initial manuscript all the way to printer-ready copy, including extracted parts where relevant.
